Job Responsibility

Serves as Deputy Chief of Health Services for the Central Region
Establishes and maintains a statewide Women's Health and a HIV Prevention Program for Health Services and monitors all contracts for Health Services, in order to provide individuals in custody with appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, and clinical care
Leads the development and ongoing management of a comprehensive statewide Infection Control Program designed to prevent and control communicable diseases among individuals in custody and staff across all facilities
Serves as a full line supervisor
Serves as a spokesperson for the department representing the Director, Assistant Director, and the Agency Medical Director before the court, Governor's Office, legislature, officials from federal and state agencies, and various other organizations, the media, and public interest groups advocating, explaining, and interpreting new and revised health services policies and initiatives
Participates in budget planning
Serves as a liaison to the IDOC Legal Department and various community advocacy groups, medical issues affecting the transgender and non-binary individuals in custody, and other diverse groups represented in the population served
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
