Job Description

Our Community Development team is seeking a Senior Principal / Principal Civil Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of iconic infrastructure and land development projects across Melbourne and Geelong regions. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong local connections and a passion for delivering projects that positively impact the local community. As a leader within Community Development, you will be a key contributor to the success of our projects. You’ll represent the company externally, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, while providing clear direction and support to project teams to ensure quality outcomes, financial performance, and team morale. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of Victorian projects, including land development, subdivisions, commercial buildings, and public infrastructure - all contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the region. Job Responsibility

  • Provide advanced technical input, manage risk, and deliver innovative, practical solutions across complex civil engineering projects
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, quality service delivery, and strategic advocacy on project scope, timelines, and fees
  • Oversee the successful execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Civil design and leadership experience that include stormwater, drainage, earthworks, roads, culverts and pavements within land, urban and subdivision projects
  • Previous success in delivering large projects, ability to maintain full control and understanding of technical aspects of projects to successfully manage technical risk
  • Ability to deliver and manage stakeholders in a complex environment and being accountable for client satisfaction by supporting the project team
  • Commercial acumen in managing resources and budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in time management and organisational skills including the ability to manage resources and delegate tasks effectively
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
  • CPEng and/or RPEQ accreditation (mandatory)
