Senior or Principal Ecologist with strong background in bat ecology, including having held a bat survey licence for a minimum of 3 years, proven experience in bat mitigation design and delivery and either recent 'Named Ecologist' experience or Accredited Agent experience and written references to attain Named Ecologist status. You'll play a key role in leading projects, supporting colleagues, and delivering practical, high-quality solutions to complex ecological challenges.
Job Responsibility
Lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion
Deliver and oversee bat surveys, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies
Produce and review high-quality technical reports
Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists
Contribute to project planning, tenders, and client relationships
Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
Requirements
Strong experience in UK habitat and protected species assessment
Proven experience in bat surveys, mitigation design, and implementation
Bat survey and/or mitigation licence (highly desirable)
Sound knowledge of legislation, particularly EPS licensing
Strong report writing and technical review skills
Experience managing projects and, ideally, people
Relevant degree in ecology or related discipline
A proactive, flexible approach with strong attention to detail
Nice to have
