Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary, based in London. Reporting to the Head of Pricing Operations you will independently manage priorities and drive initiatives within your area of responsibility as well as contribute to developing global actuarial approaches and support junior team members. You constantly engage with the senior management and maintain connections with Allianz Commercial departments and Group functions. Future challenges include navigating Solvency II regulation, capital optimization, derivative effects on business strategy, detailed business steering efforts, and delivering projects with limited resources.

Job Responsibility:

Define pricing best-practices for each of Allianz Commercial’s Line of Business and Regions around Data, Modelling, Technology, Portfolio Management, and Governance
Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Group, UW, MM, CFO, etc.) to foster mutual understanding how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials
Evaluating achievement towards pricing best-practices, advising on improvements required to achieve technical excellence
Establish an excellent working relationship with Stakeholders. This includes both internal stakeholders at Global Commercial, the Pricing Academy as well as management at OE/Region level to drive a consistent, realistic and sustainable understanding of technical pricing concepts
Develop global actuarial approaches and processes as well as enhance actuarial models and analyses

Requirements:

Qualified Actuary with post qualified experience
Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail
Ability to influence desired outcomes across complex multinational organizations
Experience in the development and data-driven calibrations of pricing tools
Strong computer and programming skills in, such as, SQL (or similar), VBA, R, Python an advantage
Self-motivated / proactive with natural curiosity to ask probing questions and ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action
Results orientated with a proven track-record of delivering on-time projects and process improvements
Experience of commercial lines pricing desirable, ideally mid/large corporate and specialty lines
A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential
Ability to work in an international / virtual environment
Fluency in English
