This role will sit at the heart of delivering Press and Communications campaigns throughout the year that raise awareness of the charity's work. Whether that's during our fundraising appeal season or across the rest of the year sharing the impact of our work and where the money goes.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy that drives engagement and clarity across the organisation on a year round basis
Devise and implement strategic media and PR campaigns to raise BBC Children in Need’s profile and drive public engagement
Collaborate across BBC Children in Need and the wider BBC to support PR activities tied to Appeal programming and partnership campaigns
Lead the team in identifying media opportunities, aligning with the daily news agenda and spotlighting the challenges faced by children and young people
Develop insight-led PR initiatives and contribute to reputation-building efforts within the charity and funding sectors
Manage press materials and media relations with precision, while supporting the PR & Comms Lead in proactive and reactive press activity, including reputational risk management
Plan and deliver press events such as photoshoots, visits, and launches, and deputise for the PR & Comms Lead when required
Requirements:
Experience of successfully developing and delivering both internal and external communication strategies
Experience of delivering and supporting on corporate communications, with a particular focus on internal communications
Good journalist contacts across the national, consumer and trade media
A proactive self-starter with an ability to generate high quality, creative ideas
Strong crisis communication experience
