HPE Networking has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective and motivated Senior Sales Engineer to be part of the Sales Engineering team, based in Canberra. This position will provide the right candidate an outstanding opportunity to work on Industry-leading technology including AI enabled, cloud-based networks, software defined networks and cybersecurity in some of the most advanced network deployments in Australia. The primary responsibility of this role is to help develop opportunities and drive sales of HPE Networking solutions into large Enterprise and Government accounts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with account teams and mentor other SE’s to bring the best solutions to our customers and foster long-term, trusted technical and business relationships
  • Advise customers on short-and long-term product directions so that they can make the best decisions possible for their digital transformation
  • Deliver compelling presentations, develop technical solutions and corresponding business cases to promote HPE Networking products and solutions to customers and partners
  • Extensive experience with large complex Requests for Proposals (RFP)
  • With sales staff, assess potential application of company products/solutions to meet customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Champion and evangelise HPE Networking cutting edge experience-first and self-driven infrastructure solutions
  • Work with vendor partners to help drive business and deliver demand generation events

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of the technical pre-sales engineering process and the sales processes applied to large enterprise and/or government accounts
  • Extensive experience in designing and selling complex enterprise solutions into these segments
  • Amazing presentation skills and the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive level technical decision-makers
  • Unbreakable customer relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Experience presenting at technical road shows and Industry events
  • Technical sales leadership for major opportunities and hands-on expertise for customer demonstrations and proof of concepts (PoC)
  • A strong network of relationships outside of own area of expertise
  • Strategic sales strategy building at the account / deal level
  • Competitive knowledge, including solution, technology and product offerings
  • 10+ years of related pre-sales, technical sales experience
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Knowledge of industry-based solutions, network architectures, cloud-based solutions and security architectures
  • A working knowledge of advanced enterprise solutions and architectures including: AI-Driven networks, automation, campus and branch networks, wireless networks, Security, SD-WAN, MPLS and Data-centre architectures
  • Must have technical-sales experience working with Account Executives and have a strong background in selling advanced networking & security solutions to meet customer business needs
  • Relevant HPE Juniper experience and certifications are desirable - Ideally advanced knowledge across Juniper Networks products including Juniper Mist, EX, QFX, SRX, MX, ACX, PTX, JUNOS and cloud solutions
  • HPE Aruba experience and certifications are desirable, including ACMA, ACMP, ACMX, and ACDX
  • Government clearances desirable
  • Equivalent knowledge of, and experience with other vendor’s equipment will be considered, as will be recognised, non HPE Networking (Juniper and Aruba) certifications
