This role is within a major Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) and Independent Connections Provider (ICP) company. They specialise in multi-utility connections across the entire UK and have also branched out into the EV sector too. You’ll be responsible for a team of 4 technical support engineers in the company’s smart metering sector. You’ll ensure that the Operational support teams enable the company’s Dual Fuel strategy. This is an office based role with direct responsibility for supporting installation engineers with technical enquiries, aborts and supporting the planning team. You’ll raise and ensure non-conformances are closed out in a timely manner and source engineers for callouts to cover site emergency jobs.
Job Responsibility:
Complete audits on photos brought back from smart metre installations from engineers - including van, WIP and post completion audits for the power
Provide technical advice to engineers in the field/out on site and process any aborts with clear reasoning as to why
Manage all the work streams within the team - managing a team of 4 support engineers across the tasks at hand
Managing the processes across technical and external suppliers
Ensure photo validation is completed
Work closely with the TSM Group to review all aborts and gas/power emergencies ensuring the root cause is identified and communicated to avoid repeats
Support the planning/new connections and instals team by providing technical advice on previously aborted/new jobs received
Provide technical assistance to external communications
Contribute to the company strategy of developing a dual fuel engineering resource
Assist with continual improvement of current processes and help provide direction on continual service improvements
Assist with the training & development of existing staff and new additions to the Technical Helpdesk providing necessary feedback to ensure ongoing reviews for new starter development
Requirements:
Experience of a smart metering background (prefered)
CT or WC qualified - CT LV/HV etc
Smart metering or multi-phase
UK Drivers Licence
SMETS knowledge (Advantageous)
Nice to have:
SMETS knowledge (Advantageous)
