The Senior Power Systems Engineer is a key technical contributor supporting the delivery of grid connection, system strength and power quality studies across renewable generation and transmission infrastructure. You will undertake detailed modelling and analysis while working closely with Lead and Principal Engineers to develop your technical capability and leadership experience.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver power system studies including GPS, system strength, power quality and transmission/distribution planning
Develop and validate RMS and EMT models for inverter-based generation
Support registration, GPS compliance and commissioning activities with government authorities and network service providers
Undertake harmonic and interaction assessments
Prepare technical reports and client documentation
Regular use of PSS®E and PSCAD/EMTDC
Support EMT and dynamic simulation workflows
Develop modelling capability under technical leadership
Work under the guidance of Lead and Principal Engineers
Participate in client meetings and technical workshops
Build your technical depth and project leadership capability
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
5+ years experience in power system studies
Experience in NEM grid connections and inverter-based generation
Working proficiency in PSS®E and PSCAD
Strong technical foundation and desire to progress into leadership
