Job Description

Senior Power Systems Engineer – Power and Energy Systems Consultancy. You’ll play an essential role in the grid connection process for new renewable energy generation projects. You’ll work with key stakeholders to support each stage of the project lifecycle—from application to commissioning. You’ll contribute your technical expertise to deliver solutions for grid connection challenges, including weak grid issues and network congestion.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform high-quality Power Systems studies for renewable energy projects
  • Develop and implement technical solutions for network and connection issues
  • Drive project success by applying your expertise to achieve critical project milestones and grid connection approvals
  • Manage projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and internal procedures
  • Identify potential project extensions and future opportunities by establishing strong relationships with clients
  • Contribute to the team’s knowledge base by engaging with internal competence networks

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in power system studies, Grid/Industrial connection studies, or related areas
  • Proficiency in power systems modelling tools such as DIgSilent, PSS/E, Power Factory, ETAP and PSCAD
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Python scripting for automation is a plus
  • Experience in power systems modelling with a utility background, specifically in power systems planning or operations
  • Stakeholder negotiation experience
  • Research publications in reputable Electrical Engineering journals or conferences

  • Ownership of the power subsystem and all aspects feeding into and out of it
  • Identification and flow-down of spacecraft system requirements to the spacecraft power system
