Job Responsibility:
Lead and execute advanced power system studies and network modeling to meet client requirements related to reliability, regulatory compliance, and system performance
Perform and oversee complex studies, including generator interconnection (feasibility, system impact, and facility studies), transient and voltage stability, short circuit, arc-flash, insulation coordination, and power plant/grid integration design
Provide technical leadership in study methodology, model validation, and results interpretation, ensuring high-quality and defensible deliverables
Prepare and review comprehensive technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with ISO/RTO and client standards
Collaborate with multidisciplinary and global teams, mentoring junior engineers and driving consistent, high-quality execution across projects
Manage client relationships, proactively communicating technical findings, risks, and recommendations while ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
Support and contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation, scope definition, and identifying new opportunities with existing and prospective clients
Requirements:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, with a strong focus on power systems
7+ years of experience in power system studies, with demonstrated expertise in generator interconnection studies (e.g., feasibility, system impact, and facility studies) within ISO/RTO environments such as PJM, MISO, or similar
Strong understanding of transmission system planning, dynamic and steady-state analysis, and power system stability (transient, voltage, and frequency)
Hands-on experience with industry-standard simulation tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PSLF
Proven ability to lead studies, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality technical results under tight timelines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex system behaviors and provide practical engineering solutions
Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and interfacing with clients, ISOs, and stakeholders
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment, with a high level of ownership and accountability
Nice to have:
Experience with inverter-based resource (IBR) modeling and compliance with standards such as IEEE 2800
Familiarity with control systems, power electronics, and renewable generation technologies
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python) for study workflows
