Job Description:

Senior Portfolio Services Manager role at HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. The role involves supporting an $800m CTB portfolio, providing guidance on scope, quality, cost and effort, overseeing progress against plans, managing risks and issues, tracking financial performance, and ensuring project governance and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrates good knowledge of Transformation Programme/Project Management Framework, supporting the creation of detailed plans including key activities and milestones
  • Supporting $800m CTB portfolio, Support in Prioritization activities, QBR, understand deliveries and challenges across different programmes
  • Provide guidance to the Portfolio / Programme / Project Manager in defining required scope, quality, cost, and effort
  • Oversight / Supervision of progress against the plan, looking ahead and removing roadblocks to delivery
  • Oversight of Risks and Issues through appropriate tracking and involving key members of the portfolio / programme/project team as appropriate
  • Tracks and reports financial performance metrics and builds budget control to manage expenses
  • Develops communication and reporting strategy, coordinates between stakeholders for progress reviews, key decisions, documentation and approvals
  • Proactively and effectively manages own time and workload
  • Establishes and updates quality procedures, manages internal ad-hoc quality audits, reports quality variance and suggests corrective actions
  • Work with Portfolio /Programme / Project Manager to provide project governance and compliance
  • Helps ensure the portfolio / programme /project team follows all quality assurance processes, GTC frameworks and use standard tools
  • Manages staffing requirements for the programme, maps skill profiles and develops resource and skill augmentation strategies, identifies right shoring opportunities
  • Manages any Programme and Projects Services Manager /Analysts in the team to ensure they deliver quality work and meet the expectations of the programme
  • Define KPI structure along with Thresholds and work with the Programme teams to integrate the same
  • Drive Action oriented Monthly Portfolio Delivery Forums and work towards closing the actions
  • Drive the NFR adoption across all Programmes

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills & ability to manage work independently without any supervision
  • Strong experience in leading large teams both across locations, both functional and entity
  • Extended experience of working in a banking environment
  • Experience of working in a change environment as PMO/PM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and solid experience in face to face presentation and reporting standards
  • Experience in working with senior stakeholders
