Join our Vodafone Business Technology Solutions team, where we support businesses of all sizes with world-class technology solutions. We design and develop our Fixed Line solutions, drive efficiency through automation and AI, and implement it all directly with our customers. A leadership role, the Senior Portfolio Manager will be responsible for engaging with all necessary senior stakeholders and governance forums to ensure the successful delivery of all projects included within the portfolio. Utilising the methodologies and governance regimes prescribed within the Projects and Programmes Management practice, ensure that a consistent delivery approach is adopted and the necessary controls implemented. This role will also involve the creation and delivery of strategic objectives to optimise the performance of the delivery function within Vodafone. A role focussed entirely on delivery, the principle responsibility of the portfolio role is to deliver all projects in line with business case expectations (time, cost and quality).

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of multiple client facing delivery projects
  • Accountable for the successful delivery against the agreed scope, timeline, budget and forecast revenue targets
  • Engaging with all necessary senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Ensure that a consistent delivery approach is adopted and the necessary controls implemented
  • Creation and delivery of strategic objectives to optimise the performance of the delivery function
  • Interpret organisational strategy and translate it into clear portfolio priorities
  • Create prioritisation criteria and determine impacts of strategy changes
  • Build a high‑level portfolio roadmap including dependencies and constraints
  • Ensure a full governance model is in place
  • Produce a robust portfolio management plan
  • Continuously monitor performance via dashboards, reports, and audits
  • Measure delivery outcomes against strategic and business goals
  • Manage portfolio‑level capacity allocation and prioritisation decisions
  • Control change using formal change management methods
  • Analyse stakeholders to understand expectations and influence
  • Create and maintain a communication strategy and plan
  • Ensure consistent, accurate portfolio communications
  • Determine portfolio risk appetite and produce a risk management plan

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing major projects/programmes in technology
  • Ability to operate effectively in a continuously changing environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Solid business, financial, and organisational analysis capabilities
  • Proven leadership, conflict resolution, and cross‑functional influencing skills
  • Certifications preferred: MoP, P3O, MSP
  • Strong knowledge of business process frameworks (eTOM, ITIL)
  • Advanced financial understanding (budgeting, P&L, capitalisation)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex programmes simultaneously
  • Telecoms industry experience is advantageous
  • Eligible for SC Clearance
