The Senior Platform Developer is responsible for delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions and ensuring efficient, well-governed release processes for the International Salesforce platform at Exact Sciences. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining business-critical capabilities while supporting smooth and reliable deployments across development, test, and production environments.
Job Responsibility:
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support
Deliver medium to high complexity Salesforce functionality including business logic implementation, asynchronous processing, custom frameworks, integration via REST/SOAP APIs and Platform Events, and complex Apex classes, triggers, workflows, validation rules, formulas, and process automation
Deliver Salesforce frontend functionality including Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, user interface customization, and responsive design
Contribute to the development of engineering standards, best practices, and reusable components
Mentor junior engineers and encourage knowledge sharing within the team
Coordinate with stakeholders, peers, and decision-makers to align release schedules, manage dependencies, and ensure smooth deployment from development through staging to production
Implement and manage scalable release processes including continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, and support for the end-to-end release lifecycle
Contribute to the definition and management of environment strategies and data management such as backups, seeding, and anonymization
Ensure security and compliance across development and release activities, including the implementation of automated quality and security gates
Monitor and analyze Salesforce events and system activity using Event Monitoring to ensure performance, security, and compliance
Identify release risks, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement rollback, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Recommend and implement improvements in processes, tooling, and automation to enhance development and release efficiency
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in Salesforce development and release engineering and apply relevant innovations to the platform
Manage and execute hotfix deployments to address urgent production issues with minimal disruption
Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed

Requirements:
Fluency in English (C1 or above per CEFR framework) with the ability to communicate on technical topics relating to the software development process
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other field related to the essential duties of the position
or high school degree/ 4th level vocational qualification in IT and 4 years of relevant experience related to the essential duties of the position in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
6+ years of software development experience with building cloud-based applications using Salesforce and other cloud technologies
4+ years of proficiency in Saleforce.com development, covering both backend and frontend functionality, using Apex Triggers, Apex Controllers, Visual Force Page / Lightning, SOQL & SOSL, Schedule, and Batch & Queueable jobs
3+ years of experience managing DevOps in a software engineering role, including supporting Salesforce and MuleSoft platforms
3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, WSDL, XML, XQuery, XSD, SOAP, REST, and WSDL
Proficiency with GitLab workflows and SFDX CLI
Good knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services
Authorization to work in Poland without visa sponsorship
Nice to have:
Salesforce certifications: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II and/or Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer
Experience in building and maintaining processes in Informatica Cloud
Experience in building Salesforce and MuleSoft CI/CD pipelines from scratch
Experience with Salesforce and MuleSoft platform production deployments in an Agile/Scrum environment
Practical knowledge of Confluent Kafka
Practical knowledge of Python and/or Bash
Practical knowledge of databases and SQL
Experience in molecular biology, genomics, translational science, and/or personalized medicine
Superior technical communication skills
