Planner x 4 – Multiple Base Locations: Altrincham, Bristol or Glasgow (Hybrid Working). Visits to client sites will be required.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the project manager and project team to align schedules and develop, maintain, and baseline fully logic-linked work plans in Primavera P6, structured according to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and approved methodologies
Support the Trend & Change process by analysing project-level data, generating performance indicators, and highlighting risks and opportunities
Identify, analyse, and resolve time-related issues promptly and effectively
Monitor project progress, report on variances and potential delays, and assist in proposing mitigation strategies
Coordinate, verify, and produce project-level schedule reports within established reporting cycles, including narrative on key time drivers and performance matters
Ensure compliance with project governance, scheduling standards, and procedures
Manage resource and cost-loaded schedules to facilitate resource allocation and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
Continuously seek to improve discipline performance by adopting best practises and applying lessons learned
Assist the project manager as the focal point for defining progress and performance against the Performance Measurement Baseline
Coordinate and integrate project controls activities, including cost management, scheduling, reporting, and change control
Provide timely, targeted progress and performance reports to key stakeholders, incorporating commentary on critical drivers and performance indicators within defined reporting schedules
Maintain accurate cost forecasts aligned with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)
Accurately assess the project’s lifecycle Estimate At Completion (EAC)
Support identification, evaluation, and implementation of trends and changes, including their schedule and cost impacts
Ensure correct application of earned value techniques and indices within the project
Contribute to forward resource planning and budget preparation processes
Adhere to project governance and integrated project controls standards and procedures
Proactively pursue continuous improvement of discipline performance through best practise implementation and learning
Requirements:
A degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline is preferred
alternatively, an HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with degree-level education
Professional qualification with chartered or equivalent status is preferred
Proven experience in a project management or project controls environment in a similar role
Extensive experience using planning software
Experience with commercial contracting
Experience in the design phase of complex construction projects
In-depth knowledge of planning management methodologies, techniques, and processes
Proficiency with planning and schedule management software
Ability to interpret complex project data accurately
Strong capability to produce clear and concise narratives supporting project reporting
Comprehensive understanding of earned value analysis
Familiarity with various contract types, particularly the NEC suite
Good commercial awareness and understanding of project financials
High level of analytical and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across all organisational levels
Candidates ideally hold SC clearance or be willing to undergo the vetting process
