Job Description

Senior Resource Consents Planner - Remote. Are you ready to make an impact as a Remote Resource Consents Planner? This forward-thinking council is looking for a skilled professional to administer and implement statutory obligations related to resource consenting. Reporting to the Team Leader – Resource Consents, you will process consent applications, guide junior staff, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Efficiently process consent applications within statutory timeframes
  • Assist in training and deputising for the Principal Planner
  • Supervise the notification processes for applications
  • Provide planning reports and expert evidence as needed
  • Contribute to Civil Defence duties if required
  • Uphold Health & Safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Degree in Resource Management Planning
  • 4+ years’ experience in planning/resource management
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the NZ Planning Institute
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work remotely and build stakeholder relationships

  • Provide specialist resource management advice across building consents, LIMs and customer enquiries
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives, District Plan reviews and cross-functional projects that support Napier’s future growth
