This position is responsible for providing technical oversight across all aspects of pipeline design in both offshore (marine environment) and onshore settings. The role ensures technical implementation throughout procurement, fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning phases, supporting project delivery teams with expert engineering guidance. The primary focus will include support during tender assessment and selection phases, with potential to follow the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) phase after Final Investment Decision, driving successful delivery of high-profile energy infrastructure projects.
Job Responsibility:
Provide technical oversight and assurance of pipeline design activities as per relevant codes, standards, and project specifications, ensuring timely and compliant delivery
Manage technical clarifications and close out during the tender phase, including risk-based assessments and technical approvals
Interface with related technical disciplines, including structural engineering, flow assurance, process, piping, vessels, valves, technical safety, coating, materials/corrosion engineering, and construction teams
Coordinate with contractors and independent verification bodies to ensure correct development and implementation of relevant technical documentation and performance standards
Participate in project reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, P&ID review, safety, and 3D model reviews as required, ensuring findings are addressed
Oversee geotechnical aspects, pipeline routing, long-term integrity, constructability reviews, trenching, and burial strategies for safe construction and operation
Promote innovation and cost-effectiveness in technical solutions while maintaining reliability and safety standards
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within multidisciplinary project teams and joint ventures
Requirements:
Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
At least 10 years of relevant technical discipline experience, with a minimum of 5 years in offshore/marine pipeline engineering environments
Demonstrated expertise and technical authority status within pipeline engineering, with strong knowledge of applicable standards (NEN, IOGP S-616, DNV F104)
Excellent communicator with proven interpersonal and team management skills, including experience leading diverse teams in complex project environments
Experience with TotalEnergies General Specifications, offshore pipeline fabrication/installation (e.g. welding, NDT), and HSSE & Quality Assurance for large trunklines is an advantage
Fluency in English is essential
Dutch language skills are advantageous
