The Senior Pipeline Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in pipeline engineering. This role will function as the Lead Pipeline Engineer on small to mid-sized projects, overseeing discipline-related technical work, schedules, and deliverables. The position operates with minimal supervision and may provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the Lead Pipeline Engineer for smaller projects, ensuring quality and timely completion of all pipeline engineering deliverables
Independently prepare, review, and finalize discipline-specific project specifications
Perform and review complex pipeline engineering calculations
Prepare requisitions for materials, equipment, and inquiries in coordination with the Procurement team
Prepare pipe tallies and effectively communicate design changes within the project team
Independently prepare technical bid evaluations for equipment, bulk materials, and subcontracted services
Review and approve vendor drawings
Develop or review engineering studies and plans
Contribute to site layouts, plot plans, access roads, storage yards, and major pipeline equipment arrangements
Participate in pipeline routing, Right-of-Way (ROW) selection, workspace selection, and alignment sheet reviews
Support preparation of permit drawings
Assist with FERC-related tasks, flood mapping, hazard crossing mitigation, and material requisitions
Develop and maintain technical content for pipeline standards and specifications
Prepare, review, or approve construction-level drawings
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in pipeline engineering, operations, or construction
Strong knowledge of relevant pipeline design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Familiarity with permitting requirements and industry best practices
Proficient in engineering software
GIS knowledge is considered an asset
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities
