Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior PHP developer to migrate a legacy smart factory application suite (RF-Tools, ACPG, ELCA++) from PHP 5.3/5.4 to PHP 8.4. The role focuses on upgrading the PHP runtime and related libraries (including dompdf) without changing existing business functionality. The Candidate will refactor code to resolve breaking changes, ensure compatibility with MariaDB/MySQL and on-premises Active Directory authentication, and support a time-and-materials engagement over an estimated 3–4-week period.

Job Responsibility:

Migrate legacy PHP applications from versions 5.3/5.4 to 8.4 without changing business functionality
Upgrade and align all dependencies (including dompdf) and fix breaking changes
Refactor legacy code for PHP-8.4 compatibility
Ensure stable operation with MariaDB/MySQL and on-premises Active Directory authentication
Collaborate with the Customer in a time-and-materials engagement over an estimated 3–4-week period

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Senior PHP Developer migrating legacy PHP 5.x applications to PHP 8.x
Strong knowledge of PHP internals and typical breaking changes introduced in PHP 7/8 and related extensions
Hands-on experience with MariaDB/MySQL back-ends and authentication via LDAP/Active Directory
Ability to work with legacy code, refactor deprecated patterns, and fix migration issues in a focused short-term time-and-materials engagement
English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher
