The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to work within the homecare and the Medicines Optimisation teams. Job Responsibility:
Deputise for the lead pharmacy technician for homecare in his / her absence
Work with the clinical teams including specialist pharmacists across the trust to maintain and further develop relationships to continuously strive to improve and increase the number of homecare services provided
Supervise the operational aspects of homecare services and for high-cost medication ensuring that processes are followed in line with trust, local and national guidance
Help ensure safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across our hospital
Support high-quality patient care by delivering accurate medicines reconciliation, improving medicines safety, and helping patients get the most from their medicines
Requirements:
Working with in a team
Managing own workload to meet the needs of a service
Knowledge of dispensary procedures acquired through training & experience
Working with Pharmacy computer systems
Previous experience of training others
Additional training for checking dispensed prescriptions, supervising a technical area within the pharmacy to degree or equivalent level
Knowledge of medicines management, including relevant legislation and policies acquired through NVQ3 or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level
Applicants must have current UK professional registration
Nice to have:
Knowledge of CMM, the hospital pharmacy computer system
Able to manage a team on a day-to-day basis
Previous line management experience
Educational supervisor experience
In-depth post qualification experience in a hospital pharmacy
