Sheffield Children's are currently seeking driven and enthusiastic individuals who are looking to further their Healthcare experience and career in Pharmacy. Through a structured training package you will receive both on-the-job and academic training to support you to become a fully skilled Band 3 Senior Pharmacy assistant within 18 months. As a Senior Pharmacy assistant you'll be at the very heart of everything. We are a Real Living Wage employer. Candidates who do not yet meet the essential qualification requirements, and require a period of on-the-job training, will be appointed under Annex 21 terms and conditions, receiving a Real Living Wage top-up during training. Once qualified, you will move to the starting point of Band 3, continuing to receive the Real Living Wage top-up.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare a range of aseptic products including CIVAS, TPN, cytotoxics, and ATMPs
Assemble and process trays for manufacture, including quality checks
Manage and label worksheets accurately
Participate in quality management and assurance activities
Support senior technicians in daily operations
Requirements:
GPhC accredited certification for practicing as a pharmacy assistant
NVQ level 2 Science manufacturing process operative or willing to work towards
English Language and Maths GCSE Grade 4/C or above or equivalent
NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services OR alternatively a GPhC accredited certification for practicing as a pharmacy assistant
Careful and accurate worker
Can operate a PC and the JAC system
Can manipulate vials and syringes within the cabinets
Can maintain all appropriate records
Can follow directions and maintain acceptable standards of work
Can visit wards and departments with supplies
Can work within all types of cabinet within the suite
Can move stock, receive deliveries
Good team worker
Appreciation of the high levels of cleanliness required within the suite
Can physically carry out the duties of the post
Nice to have:
GCSE grade 4/C or above in Double Science or equivalent
IT skills
Mentoring skills and experience to aid the training of less experienced members of staff working to achieve the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services
