We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior PET CT Radiographer/Technologist to join our team at the Leeds PET-CT Unit within St James's Hospital. The successful candidate will have either HCPC or an equivalent voluntary registration, and you must have a background in Nuclear Medicine, preferably with experience of PET-CT, and be experienced in handling and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals. A high level of competency in cannulation is preferable. You should have a patient-focused attitude to ensure patient care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. We are looking for a flexible, adaptable team player who has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Job Responsibility
IV cannulate patients as part of the role
Undertake a competency programme in PET-CT to develop your knowledge and help you gain a full understanding
Awareness of, and compliance with Alliance Medical Policies and Procedures, Radiation Regulations (IRMER, IRR 99 and EPR 2010) if modality requires this, CQC requirements and Health and Safety legislation
Awareness of, and compliance with Data Protection and Patient confidentiality
Undertake initial and refresher mandatory training to ensure compliance at all times
Requirements
HCPC or an equivalent voluntary registration
Background in Nuclear Medicine
Experience of PET-CT
Experienced in handling and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals
High level of competency in cannulation
Patient care experience/skills
Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills including time management
Excellent communication and negotiating skills
High energy level – able to collaborate across teams to achieve a common goal
Ability to motivate self and other members of your team and appropriately delegate
Positive approach to change
Flexible approach to working hours
IV Cannulation Certificate preferred
Must be IT literate
Enhanced DBS clearance required
Flexibility to operate across multiple sites if required
BSc/DCR in Diagnostic Radiography and/or Diploma in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent is essential
