This is not a 'keep the lights on' role. You are joining a People Operations team with a clear ambition: move from a predominantly administrative function to a true business partner. That means rethinking how we operate, automating what can be automated, and using data to drive real decisions. As Senior People Operations Specialist, you will be the functional expert and operational backbone of the team. You will own France payroll governance, HRIS excellence, and People analytics, while coaching and supporting the rest of the team. You report to the Manager, People Operations & C&B and work closely with Finance, Legal, and People Partners across our 8-country EMEA organization. Our tools: Lucca, BambooHR, Silae (outsourced payroll), Siit, Dust (AI & automation), Google Workspace.
Job Responsibility
Act as the subject matter expert for France payroll processes (400 employees)
Oversee the preparation of variable payroll elements and ensure their accuracy
Guarantee the compliance and quality of data submitted to our payroll provider
Anticipate and document the impact of legal and practice changes on payroll
Lead payroll audits and controls related to payroll and personnel administration
Act as the functional expert for our HRIS (BambooHR) and People tools
Design, maintain, and optimize HR workflows
Lead automation projects across People Operations processes
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive their implementation
Ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of HR data
Build and maintain HR dashboards (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, payroll costs)
Produce regular reports to support the monitoring of key HR indicators, supported by AI and automated dashboards
Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations
Contribute to specific processes such as annual bonus calculations and compensation plan follow-up with the Manager, People Ops & C&B
Lead or co-lead People projects with an international dimension (HRIS rollouts, process harmonization, tooling evolution)
Support local People teams in adopting processes and new automated tools
Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, IT) and external partners (payroll providers, HRIS vendors)
Requirements
7+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS, or Payroll Operations
Strong expertise in French payroll processes and personnel administration
Advanced proficiency in HR tools and data: HRIS, Excel/Google Sheets, reporting tools
Experience managing HR projects, ideally in an international environment
Professional-level English (C1 level required)
Autonomous, rigorous, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment
Service-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders
Genuine interest in automation, no-code tools, and continuous improvement
