Job Responsibility

  • Partner with managers on day-to-day people matters, from performance and absence to more complex conduct and well-being situations
  • Take the lead on employee relations cases end-to-end, keeping things fair, consistent, and commercially sound
  • Coach and challenge managers to handle situations confidently, reducing reliance on 'handing things over'
  • Spot patterns and trends in cases, using data to highlight risks and improve how we operate
  • Keep our processes practical and up to date, not just compliant, but actually useful
  • Support and deliver training that helps managers build real capability, not just tick boxes
  • Work closely with the wider People team to keep everything aligned and joined up
  • Get involved in projects and policies that improve how manage and develop our people
  • Confidently manage TUPE activity in line with legislation

Requirements

  • Experience handling employee relations cases and advising managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence to influence, challenge and build trust with stakeholders
  • A practical, commercial mindset — you balance risk with what works for the business
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail across multiple cases
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
