Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced PCBA Test Engineer to join our test engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of DFT, debug, NPI test and high-volume ICT & FCT production test bring up for all Aeva’s product lines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive PCBA testability (DFT) from schematic review through high-volume manufacturing
  • Integrate test points, boundary scan, and other DFT techniques into PCB designs to enhance test coverage and fault detection
  • Define and enforce test access requirements: test points, boundary scan chains, probe access, isolation, and segmentation
  • Develop test methods using python programming used for functional and parametric test on NPI PCBA test stations developed in-house at Aeva
  • Define the test requirements and support the development of functional test (FCT) at CM for high volume manufacturing
  • Bring up new PCBA tests from first power-on to full functional validation
  • Isolate intermittent, marginal, and low-yield failures using systematic debug methods including debug of power integrity, clocks, resets, boot sequences, and mixed-signal paths
  • Correlate ICT/FCT failures with schematic intent, layout, and silicon performance
  • Use advanced instrumentation (scopes, logic analyzers, current probes, thermal tools) to capture elusive failures
  • Create debug playbooks, DFT guidelines, and failure isolation documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure on time delivery with optimum test coverage at lowest cost
  • Document test strategies, procedures, and results for internal reference and compliance purposes
  • Prepare reports to analyse and document test results, and perform SPC analysis of new test fixtures/techniques to validate or establish monitors of critical test processes
  • Provide end-to-end support through entire product life cycle from NPI (New Product Introduction) to high volume manufacturing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on PCBA test, debug, and DFT experience
  • Expert ability to read and critique schematics and PCB layouts
  • Deep understanding of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal systems
  • Strong practical knowledge of ICT, FCT, and boundary scan (JTAG)
  • Proven track record of improving yield through DFT and failure analysis learnings
  • Strong understanding of electronics, digital and analog circuits, and PCB assembly processes
  • Proficiency in PCB design software tools such as KiCAD, Cadence, or similar
  • Hands-on experience in Python programming for test automation
  • Experience with data analysis using tools such as JMP and dashboards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with CMs worldwide
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and capable of making clear conclusions and recommendations
