Job Description:

A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our clients team within the manufacturing and distribution industry. This role is pivotal in managing and processing payroll for both Canadian and US operations, overseeing benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with payroll-related regulations and financial reporting standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian and US employees with a high degree of accuracy
  • Manage payroll records, personnel files, and benefit administration
  • Handle payroll tax submissions and compliance for multiple provinces and US states
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including general ledger entries
  • Submit remittances for government deductions, benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions
  • Oversee group benefits and retirement plans (RRSP, DPSP, 401(k))
  • Prepare and distribute tax forms and work-from-home documents
  • Support audits and prepare necessary payroll documentation
  • Generate reports and analytics for management, including salary and wage reconciliations
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and government agencies for payroll-related matters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • PCP designation an asset
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience managing full-cycle payroll, including US payroll
  • Minimum of 4 years in account reconciliation and general ledger work
  • At least 3 years managing employee benefits and group insurance plans
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and US payroll regulations
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
