We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to join our client's team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to payroll operations while enhancing your skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting various reporting tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage full-cycle payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payments
Audit and validate union reporting data to maintain compliance with applicable regulations
Prepare and file local and quarterly tax returns in accordance with legal requirements
Reconcile payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Provide support for year-end reporting tasks, including preparation of necessary documentation
Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting requests to support the payroll department
Collaborate with team members to enhance payroll system functionality and efficiency
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Support system-related tasks during updates or conversions to streamline payroll operations
Requirements:
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data
Familiarity with union reporting requirements and related compliance
Proficiency in preparing and filing local and quarterly tax returns
Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Knowledge of payroll systems and ability to adapt to system changes or upgrades
