Senior Payroll Specialist | 12-Month FTC. Are you a seasoned payroll professional who thrives in a complex, multi-site environment? We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our leading Australian client on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a balanced hybrid split and the chance to own end-to-end processes for a large, national workforce. This is a hands-on, BAU-focused role where you will ensure accuracy and compliance across multiple pay cycles. You will be part of a collaborative team that values cross-training and shared responsibility to ensure seamless payroll delivery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage full end-to-end payroll processing, including tax and month-end activities
  • Handle weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles for a complex workforce
  • Interpret and apply Modern Awards and EBAs across various sites
  • Ensure strict compliance with Australian legislation, agreements, and internal policies
  • Act as a key point of contact for complex payroll queries and escalations
  • Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes and internal controls

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of payroll experience
  • Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards OR EBAs
  • Experience with Chris21 or Dayforce is highly regarded
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to support and uplift the broader team
  • High attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities
