Senior Payroll Officer

• End to end payroll processing
• Undertake the accurate processing of the fortnightly payroll, including variations, leave requests, allowances, new starters, terminations, and salary packaging
• Legislative Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to statutory requirements, including Payroll Tax, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and QuickSuper contributions
• Manage superannuation administration
• Autonomously investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex employment or payroll matters
• Provide clear and concise advice to all levels of management and staff on conditions of employment, taxation, superannuation, and payroll activities
• Provide guidance to the Payroll Services team and support process improvement across the function

• Demonstrated experience in a similar senior payroll role within the Victorian Public Sector (preferred)
• Must have experience with iChris / Chris21 payroll software experience
• End to end payroll processing experience (mandatory)
• A sound working knowledge and understanding of how relevant agreements, legislation, and policies relate to the delivery of payroll
• Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills with a demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve payroll problems
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset that fosters effective teamwork
• National Police Records Check
• Pre-employment misconduct screening declaration
