Job Description

We have an opening for a contract to hire Senior Payroll Analyst in Dallas, TX 75201. Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule, including special payments such as incentives, expatriate compensation, and gross-ups. Maintain payroll master data, earnings and deduction codes, and system configurations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare and initiate payroll-related wire transfers and ACH payments for employees and benefit vendors. Collaborate with Accounting on payroll journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities. Reconcile payroll, benefits, and liability accounts to maintain accuracy and audit readiness. Manage tax account lifecycle, including registrations, closures, and POA/TPA assignments. Ensure accurate calculation, withholding, and reporting of federal, state, and local payroll taxes. Review and audit payroll tax filings (e.g., Forms 941, 940, state/local returns) prepared by third-party providers. Handle payroll tax notices, including research, reconciliation, and communication with agencies. Reconcile payroll tax accounts and ensure timely filings and payments. Support year-end activities, including W-2 validation and distribution. Stay current on regulatory changes and implement updates to maintain compliance. Conduct audits and analyses to identify discrepancies and enhance payroll accuracy. Maintain documentation and controls to support internal and external audit requirements. Lead or contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency and reduce risk. MUST HAVE Workday experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of payroll processing and multi-state payroll tax compliance experience. 2+ years of experience with Workday Payroll and ADP Tax Services. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on accuracy and quality. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ownership and proactive collaboration with management and cross-functional teams.
