We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This long-term contract position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of pension payroll operations for retirees and beneficiaries. The ideal candidate will possess advanced payroll expertise, strong analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of compliance standards, all while contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes.
Job Responsibility:
Process and validate monthly pension payroll for thousands of retirees and beneficiaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Review and verify benefit calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, and direct deposit transactions to maintain compliance
Coordinate payroll adjustments, corrections, and retroactive payments to address discrepancies
Utilize and maintain pension administration systems, interfacing with platforms such as Workday and Oracle to support payroll functions
Assist with system testing, upgrades, and payroll-related enhancements to improve functionality
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, statutes, and internal policies, maintaining strong internal controls over payroll
Prepare audit documentation, reconciliations, and payroll reports for leadership and external auditors
Respond to inquiries from retirees and beneficiaries, providing accurate and attentive support
Perform financial reconciliations, banking verifications, and month-end reporting activities
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and automation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably involving high-volume or complex payrolls
Certified Payroll credential (CPP) required or must be obtained within the first year of employment
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, and regulatory reporting standards
Experience with pension administration or defined benefit retirement systems is highly preferred
Proficiency in using payroll systems such as Workday or Oracle, along with expertise in banking interfaces and direct deposit processing
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and a strong ability to manage complex calculations and reconciliations
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
