Job Responsibility

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for large weekly and biweekly employee populations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Administer payroll activities for both U.S. and Canadian employee groups while maintaining compliance with applicable payroll practices
  • Reconcile and finalize payroll data through external tax and payroll interfaces, including settlement activities connected to OneSource
  • Partner closely with HR teams to resolve employee payroll questions, data issues, and processing exceptions
  • Coordinate with internal support groups to address unique or non-routine payroll scenarios that arise during each cycle
  • Review payroll results for inconsistencies, identify potential errors, and proactively raise concerns before finalization
  • Maintain payroll records and support process accuracy within Workday and related payroll systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll ownership
  • Hands-on experience managing payroll for large employee populations, including volumes exceeding 500 employees
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Payroll is required - MUST HAVE
  • Experience supporting recurring payroll cycles such as weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly processing
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across payroll, HR, and internal stakeholder groups
  • Confidence in identifying issues, questioning irregularities, and escalating concerns when appropriate
  • Adaptability and sound judgment when handling exceptions and changing payroll needs

  • Work with third party providers to process Canada and LATAM payrolls
  • Reconcile payroll data between Workday HRIS and ADP WFN, ensuring accuracy of earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits contributions before each pay run
  • Manage multi-state tax compliance across all 34 active states including new-hire reporting, SUI/SIT registration, local tax setup, and year-end W-2/T4 processing
  • Administer Canadian payroll in compliance with federal and provincial requirements (source deductions, ROEs, T4s, and year-end remittances)
  • Partner with HR, Total Rewards, and Finance to process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, LOAs, equity compensation events, and off-cycle payments
  • Identify, document, and lead process improvement initiatives that increase accuracy, reduce manual effort, and scale with company growth
  • Support payroll audits, internal controls reviews, and SOX-adjacent compliance activities as the company moves toward an IPO-ready finance posture
  • Serve as a tier-2 escalation point for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues with speed and professionalism
  • Monitor regulatory changes in federal, state/provincial, and local tax law and proactively flag impacts to the team
