The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly. We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039 and we are looking for a Senior Pavement Engineer to provide technical design input to proposing and detailing design solutions for upcoming highways pavement renewal schemes around the CPS (M25) network. There is a broad range of engineering design challenges across the M25 and the need for safe and efficient design solutions are fundamental for keeping the UK’s biggest, busiest and most critical road networks operational day in, day out. This role will provide the individual with projects where they can have complete design ownership over, leading and directing the design outcome of schemes, completing detailed design and then having the opportunity to follow through the practical construction onsite across the M25 network. The designer will be expected to assist with method engineering reviews with framework contractors and ensure the design is based around safe and efficient construction processes. The role will require efficient design coordination, reviewing documentation from Framework Consultants and assist in managing design workload in line with the delivery priorities and road space booking programme. The role will require a close working relationship with Asset and PM teams and other designers responsible for the relevant assets. General: Focus on cost-effective design solutions to maintain or improve the M25 highways asset to the standards agreed and considering the needs of key stakeholders. Deliver the outcomes agreed with the National Highways and Connect Plus DBFO Co. to programme and budget, and to meet CPS quality standards. Coordinate with Design, Asset and PM teams and organisations (NH SES).
