Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5 - 7+ years of experience in EDI solution design, implementation, or support
5+ years in a presales, sales engineering, or customer-facing consulting role
Strong knowledge of EDI formats and standards (X12, EDIFACT, etc.)
Hands-on experience with EDI mapping tools (e.g., IBM Sterling, Seeburger, Cleo Integration Cloud, GXS, Boomi, etc.)
Familiarity with iPaas technologies (e.g Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft etc)
Familiarity with standard B2B protocols such as AS2, VDA, OFTP2, SFTP, FTPS, API, and VANs
Experience with ERP systems integration (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to business audiences
Strong collaboration skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic start-up environment with a passion for making an impact

Job Responsibility

Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and define solution requirements
Conduct discovery sessions to analyze customers' existing EDI infrastructure, data flows, and integration challenges
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and standards-compliant EDI solutions
Deliver compelling product demonstrations tailored to customer use cases
Explain complex EDI workflows, mappings, and transaction lifecycle processes in a customer-friendly manner
Assist in building proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot environments
Lead the technical response to RFPs and RFIs, including solution architecture, integration approach, security, scalability, and compliance details
Design EDI workflows and system architecture diagrams showing integration with ERPs, TMS, WMS, and partner systems
Act as the primary technical liaison between the customer, internal product/engineering teams, and implementation teams during the presales cycle
Support account executives in building trusted advisor relationships with clients

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of experience in a solutions architecture, technical presales, product management, or competitive intelligence role within the enterprise software/SaaS industry.
Demonstrable hands-on expertise and deep architectural understanding of integration platforms, specifically with significant experience in Boomi (e.g., Boomi Flow, AtomSphere, MDH, API Management).
Strong understanding of other major iPaaS/integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle Middleware, IBM, TIBCO, SAP PI/PO) and their respective architectural paradigms (e.g., stateless vs. stateful engines, on-prem vs. cloud-native).
Experience with various automation technologies beyond integration (e.g., RPA, BPM, low-code platforms) is highly desirable.
Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.

Job Responsibility

Deep Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth technical and functional analysis of competitor integration and automation platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Oracle Middleware, IBM, TIBCO, etc.), identifying strengths, weaknesses, unique selling propositions, and architectural nuances.
Perform hands-on technical evaluations, build proof-of-concepts, and simulate complex use cases to accurately assess competitive capabilities and limitations.
Monitor market trends, new product releases, and competitive movements within the integration, automation, and AI/Agentic spaces.
Develop detailed competitive battlecards, whitepapers, and enablement materials for internal teams (Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Marketing) to articulate Workato's differentiation and competitive advantages.
Present competitive findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, product management, and sales teams.
Strategic Insights & Enablement: Translate competitive technical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences.
Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmap decisions based on competitive insights and market gaps.
Partner with Marketing to develop competitive messaging and positioning for external communications.
Provide expert guidance and support to the Sales and Solutions Engineering teams in competitive deal cycles, acting as a subject matter expert on competitor platforms.
