Senior Paraplanner - AFH Wealth Management is proud to be one of the UK’s leading independent financial advisory and wealth management firms. We are recruiting for a Senior Paraplanner to join our established Technical Research team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the preparation of advice for clients is of the highest quality and delivered in an efficient manner. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, with hybrid working, and a competitive salary and range of benefits.
Job Responsibility
Participate in and deliver comprehensive financial research, within set SLAs, on products and investments on an independent basis using company-approved research tools
Prepare financial planning reports across a wide range of advice types, financial products and investment solutions, including those of a more complex nature
Work with Advisers to ensure the correct client outcome is achieved, whilst ensuring Advisers are kept up to date with case progression and escalate issues where necessary
Ensure back-office systems are up to date with client information, provider contacts, case updates and documentation
Manage your diary effectively and proactively to ensure you adhere to SLA’s whilst ensuring the key performance metrics are met
Complete tax and other complex ad-hoc calculations for clients and advisers, as and when required
Support the training and onboarding of team members through case checking to aid their development and sign off. Liaise with other Senior Paraplanners to ensure consistency of approach
Adhere to all standard operating procedures, policies and processes, in accordance with all FCA regulations that apply to the conduct of the business
Support the wider paraplanning team with answers to questions and process guidance, ensuring the message delivered is positive, constructive and consistent, whilst referring to management where necessary. Support peers with the pod management of workflow and emails
Develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s Advice Guidance, as and when delivered
Identify any process issues/improvements and escalate to management for investigation
Requirements
Diploma in Financial Planning as a minimum qualification requirement or working towards chartered/advanced qualifications
Demonstration of knowledge, interest and experience in personal financial planning and in the construction of financial planning research and financial planning reports
Experience in an IFA environment, demonstrating quality communication both written and verbal
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in written/numerical skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office application
Excellent standard of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate strong report-writing skills
