The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and instill rigor within the UFS Packaging R&D team, while identifying, shaping and leading technically complex Packaging activities that support the North America UFS agenda. The right candidate should bring an attitude of professionalism, along with direct experience in rigid packaging development and functional experience with other pack formats. You will be responsible for delivering the key packaging activities to delivery Innovations, Cost Savings, Business Continuity and Sustainability program OTIF. You will manage multiple package development projects and prioritize tasks based on timelines. The right candidate will have the ability to deliver effectively in a cross-functional team environment by working with Brand, Planning, Product Development, Procurement, Quality, and material suppliers. The position will also interface with Manufacturing and Supply Chain for packaging related projects including line trials, production start-ups, cost savings, improving line efficiencies related to packaging, as well as resolving documentation issues for specifications. The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teams composed of individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds and perspectives is essential. The right candidate will have strong leadership qualities, providing technical guidance to junior team members, holding suppliers accountable and challenging the status quo.
Job Responsibility:
Provide leadership and instill rigor within the UFS Packaging R&D team

Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Packaging Science, or engineering equivalent
5 to 7+ years’ experience in the packaging field
Strong rigid packaging knowledge, with relevant qualification experience on different molding platforms
Must demonstrate understanding of package development process and engineering principles
Must demonstrate ability to develop primary and secondary packaging components that meet consumer, Brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives
Must be able to demonstrate a general understanding of project management to realize the order, importance, and impact of appropriate project activities and maintain Packaging commitments to project scheduling
Must understand consumer, business, and category needs and the relationship to packaging decisions & execution
