Job Description

A leading energy operator is seeking an experienced Senior OTS Training Manager to develop, manage and deliver the full training and competency programme for control?room (panel) operators at a large?scale LNG production facility. This is a key operational role responsible for maintaining the Operator Training Simulator (OTS), ensuring it accurately reflects the facility’s control systems, and delivering high?impact training covering start?up, shutdown, troubleshooting, emergency scenarios, utilities, upstream and LNG processing units.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the full Panel Operator Training & Competency Programme, from curriculum development to assessment and qualification
  • Act as custodian of the OTS, ensuring the simulator is maintained, updated and aligned with the latest control system versions
  • Develop simulator?based training modules for all operational scenarios, including emergencies
  • Validate and test operational procedures using the simulator
  • Support competency development for both experienced operators and national trainees
  • Oversee routine system maintenance (updates, patches, server health checks, licensing)
  • Coordinate with engineering teams when testing new control strategies and system improvements
  • Manage training records, standards, materials and reporting
  • Lead a small team of training specialists

Requirements

  • 15+ years of oil & gas / petrochemical production experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Panel Operator in an LNG production plant (not LNG terminals)
  • Proven experience using an Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
  • Deep understanding of DCS operations, shutdown systems, gas treatment, LNG processes, storage & loading, and utilities
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience handling operational upsets
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to train and mentor operators from varied technical and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong organisational and leadership capabilities
  • Fluent in English
