The Senior Oracle Database Administrator / Engineer will support a high‑availability, mission‑critical environment, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise Oracle database systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and strong communication skills to support operational and mission needs. Standard duty hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as required. The position requires availability for after‑hours and on‑call support when necessary. Additionally, the project includes scheduled Operational Change Boards (OCBs) on Saturday evenings on an as‑needed basis, typically occurring quarterly.
Job Responsibility:
Administer and engineer large‑scale, enterprise Oracle database environments in support of mission‑critical operations
Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database solutions, including database architecture, design, and data modeling
Gather, analyze, and interpret customer requirements related to database migrations, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning
Manage and support Oracle RAC environments and RMAN backup and recovery processes
Implement and maintain database security solutions, including Data Guard, Oracle Database Vault, label security, and related technologies
Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for monitoring, management, and optimization of database services
Support data migration activities and ensure database integrity, availability, and compliance with security requirements
Provide after‑hours and on‑call support as required to maintain system availability
Requirements:
10+ years of hands‑on experience administering and engineering Oracle databases, including extensive experience in database design, modeling, performance monitoring, and tuning
Significant experience with Oracle RAC and RMAN backup and recovery
Experience with database security technologies, including Data Guard, Oracle Database Vault, label security, and data migration tools and techniques
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
DOD 8570 Certification
This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
