BMT is recruiting for a Senior or Principal Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our experienced team to enhance the capacity and capability of the team. The Senior or Principal Pipeline Integrity Engineer at BMT will work as a senior member of the Materials & Structures team, providing technical and management support.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct and support the completion of engineering assessments, integrity management program activities, engineering critical assessments, and interpretation of inline inspection (ILI) and inspection reports for cracks, dents, corrosion, deformations, and other threats for onshore oil & gas facilities and pipelines
Be a technical leader for pipeline and/or pressure vessels and piping design and integrity assessment considering pressure, geotechnical and thermal loading
Have experience and familiarity with relevant Canadian and US pipeline and energy sector standards and codes of practice to lead project teams in code compliance review and assessments
Support project and business management
Identify opportunities for technology and staff improvement
Review, discuss and refer business opportunities to appropriate business units (e.g., Structural Integrity, Welding, Materials, Software & Instrumentation, Design & Construction)
Executing and directing technical projects
Providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff
Write, review and contribute to project reports
Manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements:
Experience within the North American Energy Pipeline and/or Industrial Plant Service sector
Over 10 years of related engineering experience
Proven engineering skills and a valid Professional Engineering license in Canada
Post-Graduate degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil Engineering is preferred
In depth subject matter expertise related to several of design, fitness for service assessment (i.e. cracking, corrosion, weld fault, geohazard, hydrotechnical hazard assessment), materials, welding, forensic investigation
Ability to execute or coordinate numerical modelling (e.g. finite element modelling, computational fluid dynamics)
Experience working with industry standards CSA Z662, API 579, API 1104, BS 7910, ASME BPVC, ASME B31 series
Knowledge and experience developing integrity management plans (IMP)
Knowledge of in line inspection tools, reporting and program development
Knowledge related to reliability and risk assessment
