Job Description:

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an opening for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will assist in marketing/business development, prepare and manage/oversee geotechnical projects, attend project meetings, mentor junior staff, and review and sign geotechnical proposals and reports.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in marketing/business development including preparation of geotechnical proposals
  • Assist in compilation of RFQ/RFP documentation and responding to technical questions
  • Prepare and manage/oversee geotechnical projects
  • Responsible for preparation of geotechnical evaluation reports
  • Attend project meetings with project stakeholders
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Work directly with clients to assure successful project completion
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Provide leadership and ongoing training to engineering staff
  • Provide direction and review of engineering work products prepared by others
  • Keep up-to-date with latest geotechnical survey/measurement/analyses techniques, instrumentation, industry standards or guidelines
  • Review and sign geotechnical proposals and reports on behalf of the company

Requirements:

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis required
  • P.E. license required
  • Licensed professional engineer in Arizona with 10 years or more of experience in the geotechnical industry
  • Well-rounded background in geotechnical engineering
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Track record of successful client relationships and service
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering
  • Work experience with construction and earthwork activities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines under time pressure
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent problem solving skills
