We are seeking an experienced optical automation specialist to design, develop, and deliver automated testing solutions across Optical SDN Controllers and Optical Network Elements. This role plays a critical part in enabling remote testing, improving automation maturity, and supporting the integration of optical technologies within a full SDN stack architecture. The role contributes directly to network evolution by improving test efficiency, quality, and scalability within centralised optical labs.
Job Responsibility:
Design optical test scenarios and use cases across Optical SDN and transmission environments
Develop software frameworks and automation solutions for testing Optical SDN Controllers and Optical Network Elements
Create and maintain automated test execution software for area controllers, optical cross-connects, and lab equipment
Enable remote testing solutions and automation capabilities within centralised optical labs
Deliver and maintain methodologies for test automation integrated with SDN stack architectures, including area and hierarchical controllers
Act as product owner for the optical automation test catalogue and manage its lifecycle
Execute and document automated type approval testing for optical technologies and SDN controllers
Collaborate with GDC and OSS teams to support SDN controller integration within virtualised and OSS environments
Requirements:
More than five years of experience in network or test automation
Highly skilled in Python and software scripting for automation use cases
Knowledgeable in optical transmission technologies and protocols, including DWDM and OTN, within multi-vendor environments
Experienced in optical testing methodologies and network process automation
Familiar with SDN concepts, cloud virtualisation fundamentals, and IP/MPLS technologies
A proactive self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse, remote teams
Comfortable contributing to innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in network efficiency and resilience
