The Senior Operations Manager leads a team of operations and department managers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all operational targets are met while adapting to changing priorities and balancing workflows across departments. The position requires strategic planning, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making, especially in preparation for multiple business cycles throughout the year. This leadership role supports core company values, fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and is expected to serve as the acting facility lead when the Director is not onsite.
Job Responsibility:
Leads a team of operations and department managers in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Responsible for ensuring all operational targets are met while adapting to changing priorities and balancing workflows across departments
Strategic planning, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making, especially in preparation for multiple business cycles throughout the year
Supports core company values, fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Expected to serve as the acting facility lead when the Director is not onsite
Requirements:
6+ years of leadership in a warehouse setting
Ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the time
Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
Ability to lift as needed and assist in hands-on warehouse tasks
Operational leadership and decision-making in day-to-day warehouse functions
Strategic planning and performance improvement using P&L metrics and CapEx planning
Implementation and enforcement of operational policies and procedures
Cross-functional knowledge of facility operations
Development and execution of staffing plans, training, and succession planning
Strong communication (verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving and critical thinking based on data and frontline experience
Safety management and housekeeping compliance
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
Nice to have:
6+ years of progressive leadership experience in a warehouse environment
Bachelor’s degree or some college coursework
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Experience with furniture or other big-ticket item logistics
Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical thinking
Hands-on leadership and a collaborative approach to team morale and productivity
