This role is for a Senior Nurse / Clinical Lead in an elderly nursing home in Plymouth. The service provides elderly nursing, residential, and specialist dementia support. The position involves clinical leadership, supporting the management team, leading the nursing and care team, maintaining high care standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clinical development.
Job Responsibility:
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing and care team
Lead and support staff on shift to ensure high standards of care delivery
Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and best practice guidelines
Oversee care planning, assessments, and risk management
Support the safe management and administration of medications
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and MDTs to support resident wellbeing
Mentor and support staff development through clinical supervision and training
Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive and person-centred care environment
Requirements:
Active NMC registration with no restrictions
Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting
Experience within elderly care or dementia care environments
Strong understanding of CQC regulations and governance frameworks
Confident with clinical assessments, care planning, and medication management
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to support and mentor nursing and care staff on shift
Nice to have:
Leadership qualification or Level 4/5 Health & Social Care
Previous experience in a Senior Nurse or Clinical Lead role
