Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Numerical modeler/ Coastal Engineer to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced numerical models to analyze and solve complex coastal engineering problems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, calibrate, and validate numerical models for coastal and marine environments
  • Analyze coastal processes, including hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
  • Design and implement coastal protection strategies and erosion control measures
  • Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to support decision-making processes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on coastal engineering projects
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in numerical modeling techniques and coastal engineering practices
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for coastal management and climate change adaptation

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in numerical modeling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac, or SWAN
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Fortan, Python, MATLAB
  • Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
  • In-depth knowledge of coastal processes, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
  • Familiarity with coastal protection strategies and climate change impacts on coastal areas
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for field work and client meetings
  • Ability to handle projects independently
