4+ years of bioinformatics programming experience in an industry or academic setting
Demonstrated experience as scientific programmer
Very strong in Perl, Python, JAVA, C, C++, BioPerl, and shell in Linux environment
Experience in MySQL database design and development
Experience in web-based MVC application framework
Proficiency in object-oriented design and development
Experience in statistical programming using R preferably in genomics or genetic
Knowledge in Molecular biology and Biostatistics (preferable)

Job Responsibility

Collaborate with biologists to understand and document analytical and data management requirements
Clinical genetic data analysis and reporting
Conduct research, lead development of bioinformatics software tools and curated databases
Develop coherent and integrated software and databases for biological problems
Develop data-analysis strategies, write algorithms, and deploy computational tools for the exploration of large datasets
Develop bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing NGS and metabolomics data
Write programs to generate genome-wide datasets for statistical genetics
Analyze, review and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new requirements
Work with various technologies to develop software solutions as part of research infrastructure
Assist, collaborate, and consult with internal/external researchers on analyses of NGS data

Minimum of 4 years Post-Doc experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field
Or PhD degree and equivalent relevant working experience
Extensive experience with targeted sequencing data analysis
Hands on experience analyzing NGS data
Strong background in hematologic cancer biology is a strong plus
Extensive experience of data analysis in Biopharma/CDx development is a strong plus
Excellent communication & presentation skills (English is a must, any other language is an asset)

Run SOPHIA GENETICS NGS pipelines in default mode
Modify some scripts/modules manually for research purpose
Understand the functions of each script/module in SG pipeline
Carry out quality assessment and analytical performance on different chemicals or platforms by established metrics
Perform data exploration on other practical questions related to product feasibility study to provide actionable insights
Explore new technical/biological features (e.g. UMI diversity) in deep to provide scientific insights and present the results logically
Analyze dataset from collaborators and provide exploration results on time
Join the discussion with collaborators for project progress and present the results
Prepare NGS analysis results and present to customers and prospective clients at conferences and workshops
