Job Description:

Inabia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Test Engineer to support advanced testing across 5G/LTE, WiFi, and broadband/IP networking environments for a leading telecommunications program based in Paris. This role blends wireless test engineering with enterprise and broadband networking validation, requiring hands-on experience testing radio networks, IP connectivity, and customer-premises equipment (CPE) in both laboratory and field environments. Engineers with strong LTE/5G RAN or drive-testing backgrounds who also possess (or are eager to deepen) broadband/IP networking expertise are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibility:

  • Wireless (LTE / 5G / WiFi) Testing: Perform end-to-end testing for LTE, LTE-A, 5G NSA/SA, and WiFi 5/6/6E networks
  • Validate attach/registration, carrier aggregation, EN-DC, VoLTE/VoWiFi, VoNR, handovers, fallback, and mobility scenarios
  • Execute throughput, latency, jitter, and packet-loss testing using standardized benchmarking methods
  • Analyze RAN KPIs and troubleshoot coverage, mobility, capacity, and interference issues
  • Broadband & CPE / Gateway Validation: Test residential and enterprise routers, gateways, modems, mesh WiFi systems, and CPE devices
  • Validate performance, reliability, and stability across fiber, DSL, wireless broadband, and Ethernet backhaul
  • Execute LAN/WAN configuration workflows, device onboarding, and end-to-end connectivity validation
  • IP Networking, Routing & VPN Testing: Configure and validate IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, port forwarding, and firewall rules
  • Test VPN technologies including IPsec, SSL VPNs, WireGuard, and OpenVPN
  • Troubleshoot Layer 2–Layer 7 connectivity using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, and iPerf
  • Testbed Setup & Environment Ownership: Build and maintain test environments combining 5G/LTE devices, broadband routers, switches, servers, VPN endpoints, and test tools
  • Ensure test repeatability through documentation, configuration management, and version control
  • Integrate new firmware, OS builds, APNs, SIM profiles, and network parameters into test cycles
  • Tools, Log Analysis & Reporting: Use tools such as TEMS, X-Cal, Actix, QXDM/QCAT, Wireshark, tcpdump, iPerf, and spectrum analyzers
  • Perform deep log analysis (RRC, NAS, SIP, RTP/RTCP, system logs) to identify root causes across wireless and IP layers
  • Produce clear test plans, defect reports, KPI dashboards, and root-cause analyses
  • Collaborate closely with RAN teams, broadband engineers, device OEMs, and network operators

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in LTE/5G and/or WiFi testing, broadband/CPE validation, or IP networking
  • Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals (routing, VLANs, NAT, firewalls, DHCP, DNS)
  • Hands-on experience with network test and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, TEMS, X-Cal, Actix, QXDM)
  • Ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot complex testbeds across wireless and IP domains
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Fluent or professional working proficiency in English (French a strong plus)
  • Must have the legal right to work in France (EU/EEA citizen or valid French work authorization)
