The Senior Network Engineer will work with Government clients to operate and maintain Owl Cyber Defense’s Cross Domain security appliances on-premises. The Senior Cisco Engineer will need to manage and maintain a client lab that can be used for troubleshooting purposes. This role is based at our client site in Springfield, VA. This role is 100% onsite. The role will maintain a professional rapport with customers and endeavor to give the best possible service.
Job Responsibility:
Conducts various research and analysis regarding new technology, network traffic, potential security risk, etc.
Assists on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge
Assists the network architecture design and optimization for Owl Cyber Defense solutions on behalf of the Government
Support technology implementations including installation, test, deployment, management, update, and maintenance of software and hardware
Provide support for the configuration of Cisco components such as: Cisco ASA or NG firewalls, Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ISR with CUBE, CUCM 12.5 or higher
Integrate designs with Owl’s V2CDS appliance as needed: Management network (KVM), Environmental (racking, cabling) as needed
Assist with implementing and developing test plans respective to the provided solution
Support Security Controls and Hardening of network components
Utilization of security vulnerability tools such as ACAS and SCAP to verify network components’ security posture and/or vulnerability rating
Apply Government required DISA STIGS and respective security controls as deemed appropriate and applicable
Write clear documentation, such as Install Guides, Process Documentation & Deployment Diagrams
Maintain a technical lab for pre-production testing
Provide reporting to the Government client and the Owl assigned Technical Account Manager as required (daily, weekly, and/or monthly).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field
4-8 years of experience as Systems Deployment Engineer supporting installation and configuration VoIP systems, including configuring and troubleshooting PBX systems
Experience with XMPP chat servers and clients a plus
Required Certifications (one or more of the following): CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
Proficient in primarily Linux (RHEL/CentOS)
Proficient in Cisco products to include switches, routers, and VoIP technologies
Experience implementing systems using NIST 800 series security control requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively operate in Government Civilian and military environments
Ability to travel when required (up to 20%)
Must have active DoD clearance Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI. Currently held SCI is preferred.
