Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with an Austin-based company to hire a Senior Network Engineer (6-month contract). This role will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise network solutions across a growing organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develops, maintains, and documents network architecture drawings
  • Designs and configures network routers and switches (Juniper)
  • Evaluates emerging network technologies to ensure continued performance and scalability
  • Installs and configures network hardware (LAN switches, Wi-Fi, and Palo Alto firewalls)
  • Ensures equipment is up to date with new firmware releases
  • Oversees RCA analysis and reporting
  • Provides onsite, hands-on network technical support (through work orders and tickets)
  • Manages network monitoring tools and responds to alerts in real-time
  • Performs network vulnerability assessments, identifies weaknesses, reports findings, and provides recommendations to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • BSc in computer science or similar field
  • 7 or more years of network engineering experience, including network architecture and design
  • Experience with Juniper routers and switches, Palo Alto networks, and Cisco Meraki
  • Practical knowledge of networking controls (L3 and L7)
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows, OS)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, networking protocols, and security products
  • One or more certifications, such as Principles of Network Security and Ethics (PNSE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), etc.
