Boeing Phantom Works has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Designer to join us as part of the Virtual Warfare Center team located in Berkeley, MO. The Virtual Warfare Center’s Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, maintenance, and operation of the computing, networking, audio visual, and physical environment. The VWC has several locations across the United States dedicated to large scale Modeling & Simulation engagements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leads the identification, analysis and documentation of requirements for network transport technologies and services
  • Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of the networks to ensure reliable and secure connectivity
  • Creates, implements, maintains and documents basic network designs that conform to architectural and security standards
  • Supports component/equipment research
  • Collects data to provide project cost estimates
  • Leads and coordinates high level implementation planning for strategic multi-technology insertion projects
  • Facilitates integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems, including hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
  • Experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols

Nice to have:

  • CCNA or other Cisco Certification
  • Security+ Certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)
  • SCI eligibility pre-hire highly preferred
