Job Description

I am recruiting for a Senior NEC Project Manager to support the delivery of a major reservoir scheme in the Portsmouth region. • Manage a £400m construction package, ensuring delivery to programme, cost, and quality
  • Oversee and administer NEC contracts, with specific responsibility for Clause 32 early warnings and compensation events
  • Review, administer, and manage change control and target cost mechanisms
  • Oversee design development and MEICA interfaces for the treatment plant and pumping station
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and safety obligations
  • Produce monthly progress reports, forecasts, and governance approval documentation
  • Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to resolve delivery and commercial challenges
  • Ensure all works align with the Client’s Health & Safety Management Plan and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant experience delivering major civil engineering or water infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in reservoir works, major earthworks, or large-scale infrastructure packages
  • Proven NEC contract management experience, ideally Option C target cost
  • Strong understanding of NEC Clause 32, compensation events, and change management processes
  • Commercially astute, with experience managing large budgets and risk profiles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
