Job Responsibility

  • Assist the NA Capability Manager by leading a portion of the NA Team
  • Manage work assignments/allocations for direct reports
  • Review/approve timesheets for direct reports
  • Conduct performance personnel reviews for direct reports
  • Establish and maintain recurring one-on-one meetings with direct reports
  • Provide encouragement to team members
  • Assist the Capability Manager with hiring processes
  • Assist Capability Manager with Department strategies and initiatives
  • Answer team member questions and oversee team member work
  • Support the Capability Manager to develop strategies to promote team members
  • Conduct team meetings to update team members on best practices
  • Other duties assigned by the Capability Manager

Requirements

  • Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Naval Architecture
  • Existing registration or ability to obtain registration with Professional Engineering governance body in Province of work
  • Eligible for a Canadian security clearance
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience
  • Experience within the marine, naval, defense or government sectors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience participating in recruitment and interviewing processes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable present and briefing senior leaders and executives
